2017 Season - Week 21

BUMSBowl XXII Preview

The Sofa Wreckers seeded #3 will play the #7 seeded Langley Raptors who are making the BUMSBowl for a record breaking seventh time. Chief is looking to break a three way tie with Daz and Marcus and become the first owner to win the BUMSBowl on four occasions having won it in 2000, 2003 and 2008. It’s the third BUMSBowl appearance for Johnnie who has never lost in the final, having beaten Chief 31-26 in BUMSBowl XV in 2010 and Cheryl 24-14 in BUMSBowl XIV back in 2009 as he became the only owner to do the Double Double. Trying to give Johnnie his first defeat in the final is upset minded Chief who is now 39-18 in the postseason but just 3-3 in the final. Johnnie holds a postseason record of 27-19. Chief and Johnnie have played each other just 3 times in the playoffs and despite Johnnie’s victory in the 2010 final Chief holds a 2-1 series lead having won 37-26 in the Divisional round in 1998 and 38-21 in the Championship round in 2008. Road To The Final – Johnnie (#3) beat Dave G (#14) 44-16 in the wildcard round, then defeated Daz (#13) 27-20 in the divisional round before handling his brother (#16) 33-17 in the championship round. Chief (#7 seed) beat Ron (#10) in the wildcard 25-12, then upset Wayne (#6) 37-32 in the divisional and (#5) Marcus in the championship round 20-15 (for the second consecutive year).
